The food was good, but it was a 30 minute wait for it after we ordered. The place was only moderately busy, so I cant really say why it took so long. Like I said, the food was good, but not wait for 30 minutes for it good.

Absolutely terrible people who work here. I think this had to be one of the worst dining experiences I ve ever had. The servers were so rude and had such an unbelievable, unwelcoming attitude. The food was alright though. They messed up my meal and then when I asked that they fix it all they did was huff and puff about it. It s definitely a cute place and has a nice old timey set up, and could be such a wonderful spot if the people who worked there fixed their attitude.

I need more stars. This place is hands down incredible in every way. Such a busy place but be patient and its so worth it. A pleasure to watch the staff work as a team and sincerely take pride in taking care of the people they obviously love to serve. I had the breakfast burrito and just couldnt stop eating it because it was so good. Thank you for being the perfect little dinner in every way.

Ive been to culinary school I know good cooking but if youre looking for down home this place has been an icon in North Idaho since I dont remember the hoot owl cafe has some of the best food ever cooked in the world breakfast is second to none these folks family owned and operated for years and love so much that when it was sold they kept the exact menu and made sure the food was was kept to its high standards if youre cruising through ponderay Idaho and you dont stop at the hoot out you might miss one of the best meals youve ever eaten theyre only open till 2:00 in the afternoon but if you can make it it will be an experience that you or you and your family will remember Im always want to come back to very down home atmosphere with great service great food and good times my family and I have many memories of having breakfast or lunch at this little cafe do yourself a favor stop by the chicken fried steak is my favorite their biscuits and gravy are things that dreams are made of lol

Fun restaurant with great service. The Hoot Owl has been serving breakfasts for several decades and serves a number of regular patrons daily. The restaurant is located inside an old 1942 building giving it its small town charm. Only wished there had been more options offering fresh fruit or veggies. Ordered the green eggs and ham because it came with avocado and spinach. Ham was salty and tough. Husband ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were very good. Worth a visit if you like large breakfasts and a hometown restaurant.

Delicious food and unique dishes that were worth the long wait!! Friendly service. Loved the quaint pictures and decorations. Little place was a packed house, may have been better to not wait so long. Really good prices!! Recommend for sure!!
